Dr. Michael V. Dishman Scholarship Endowment

To mark their 20th reunion, the D.D.S. Class of 1990 created an endowed scholarship in honor of Dr. Michael V. Dishman. A 1974 graduate of the VCU School of Dentistry, Dishman began his teaching career at the school in 1990 following a time in private practice. His student-centered approach had a profoundly positive effect on the dental students. This scholarship is awarded to a dental student who exhibits the same personal characteristics the 1990 alumni admired so much in Dishman.

  • Dental student known for his or her honesty and sincerity based on his or her peers' judgment
  • Student known for putting the interest of the patient or the school above those of himself or herself
  • Student known for his or her impeccable integrity in and out of clinic
