Lyons and Weinstein Fund

Lyons and Weinstein Fund

Tillie Lyons Weinstein was born in Lexington, Va., on Sept. 28, 1902. In 1922, she became one of the first women to graduate from the MCV dental school. Weinstein, the sister of Harry Lyons, former dean of the MCV School of Dentistry, went into private practice in Roanoke, Va., until 1934. She took time off to raise a family but after moving to Arlington, Va., returned to practicing in 1952.

The fund was established in 1976 and named in honor of Tillie Lyons’ husband, Samuel M. Weinstein. It supports, without restrictions, activities of the VCU School of Dentistry.
