Dr. and Mrs. Albert L. Huband Jr. Scholarship
This scholarship was established to honor Dr. Albert L. Huband Jr. and his wife, Jean Edmiston Huband. Both were natives of Chesterfield County, Va. Prior to entering dental school, Huband taught math and science in King and Queen County, Va. He graduated from the MCV School of Dentistry in 1956 and served in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps and Virginia Department of Health prior to establishing his private practice on the Southside of Richmond, Va. in 1960.
Huband had a passion in caring for patients and was especially happy and enthusiastic when educating future dentists and dental auxiliaries. This joy was demonstrated throughout his 28 years of continuous service to the school as an adjunct faculty member in the departments of Restorative Dentistry and General Practice from 1970 until his death in 1998. Huband often recognized that Jean’s support allowed him to pursue his love of dentistry.
