Dr. Michael V. Dishman Scholarship Endowment

Dr. Michael V. Dishman Scholarship Endowment

To mark their 20th reunion, the D.D.S. Classes of 1990 and 1991 created an endowed scholarship in honor of Dr. Michael V. Dishman. A 1974 graduate of the VCU School of Dentistry, Dishman began his teaching career at the school in 1990 following a time in private practice. His student-centered approach had a profoundly positive effect on the dental students. This scholarship is awarded to a dental student who exhibits the same personal characteristics the alumni admired so much in Dishman.

Criteria

  • Dental student known for his or her honesty and sincerity based on his or her peers' judgment
  • Student known for putting the interest of the patient or the school above those of himself or herself
